This exhibit focuses on religion, trade, and changes that occurred in the Middle East during the postclassical era. Artifacts include, a religious building, a map of trade routes, women, and a map of the spread of Islam. This connects with the characteristics of this era as the building was built after a world religion and the map was evidence of the spread of said religion, trade was seen occurring amongst different regions and women were one of many goods traded, interregional changes occurred after the contact of other regions.
MosqueMosques are prevalent in the Middle East as Islam is the dominant religion. Religion was very important in the post classical era, as world religions arose and spread to other regions. In fact, in the Middle East, political disputes occurred as a result of differences in religion. These disputes eventually led to a schism between two groups who had differing views on who ought to be caliphate.

Spread of IslamAs mentioned before, Islam became a world religion that spread to different regions. Thus, it could be considered a cause for interregional change in different areas such as Africa.
